Worship Pastor

Calvary Summitview seeks the right worship Pastor who will help our church make Jesus non-ignorable through music and pastoral ministry. This pastor and worship leader should love making joyful passionate disciples of Jesus as they oversee ministry teams. They will lead the songs of the church to fit with the teaching of the church, Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Our church meets for one service with multi-generational members and new disciples. This worship pastor will shepherd the congregation to sing together as one voice to the glory of God. It would not be helpful to sing Hillsong or Bethel music in our context, and we do not use fog machines. The worship pastor will meet all qualifications of an elder-shepherd and begin the process of becoming an elder as soon as he is hired. Please submit resumes to gabe@thecalvary.org.

Compensation

  • $55-72k

Qualifications

  • Must become an active member.
  • Must encourage and recruit volunteers to serve in ministry.
  • Must display Christ-like servant leadership and joyful, passionate pursuit of Jesus.

Scope of Responsibility

Shepherding:

  • Overseeing and empowering volunteers of multiple ministry teams.
  • Preaching once a month.
  • Shepherding people from up front, on Sundays and through the week.
  • Shepherding new people and members with notes, texts, calls and visits.
  • Participating in the weekly elder-pastor meetings.
  • Expectations of time:
    • 3 evenings of ministry and not more.
    • 40 hours and not more.

Worship service:

  • Working with the lead pastor to develop the weekly worship service.
  • Leading practice each week for new and growing team members.
  • Leading the prayer huddle before service.
  • Helping people experience God through the gospel.

 

Worship Director

Calvary Summitview seeks a worship leader who will help our church make Jesus non-ignorable with contemporary songs and ancient hymns. This leader will love making joyful passionate disciples of Jesus as they develop a volunteer team of musicians and vocalists. They will lead the doxology of the church to fit with the theology of the preaching and teaching. Our church is one service of multi-generational members and new disciples. This worship leader will help our congregation to sing together as one voice to the glory of God. It would not be helpful to sing Hillsong or Bethel music in our context.   • $1,000 per month

Qualifications

  • Must become an active member.
  • Must continue cultivating abilities as a musical worship leader.
  • Must be able to recruit volunteers to serve in worship ministry.
  • Must display Christ-like servant leadership and joyful, passionate pursuit of Jesus.

Pre-service:

  • Working with the pastor to develop the worship service weekly.
  • Leading practice each week for new and growing team members.

Service

  • Joining the prayer huddle before service.
  • Starting the service at the appropriate time.
  • Helping people experience God through the gospel.

Post-service

  • Encouraging and thanking worship team members.

Associate Pastor

Calvary Summitview seeks the right associate pastor who will help our church make Jesus non-ignorable by growing our shepherding capacity. This pastor should love making joyful passionate disciples of Jesus as they oversee ministry teams. Our church affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. This pastor will meet all qualifications of an elder-shepherd and begin the process of becoming an elder as soon as he is hired. Please submit resumes to gabe@thecalvary.org.

Purpose: To make joyful passionate disciples of Jesus by growing the shepherding capacity.

  1. Overseeing ministry
    1. Recruiting: asking individuals to pray about serving.
    2. Equipping servants of Jesus for more impactful ministry.
    3. Structuring the volunteer teams with infrastructure of expectations, communication and support to freely disciple.
    4. Working with staff ministry leaders byholding them accountable.
  2. Teaching and preaching ministry
    1. Preach 12 messages annually
    2. Contribute to the expository preaching calendar
    3. Strengthen the pulpit by cultivating preachers for our own churches and other pulpits.
    4. Teach or establish Sunday School
  3. Shepherding
    1. 1 note per family monthly in our attender/member list.
    2. 1 drop by per home quarterly.
    3. 1 get together annually per family.
    4. 6 hours a week of open time for people to drop by the church or my home.
    5. A discipleship/shepherding Next Step for every adult in the church.
    6. Available for crisis shepherding.
  4. Contributing to the team of elders
    1. Training and putting qualified elders forward to the church body.
    2. The elder team will hold the associate pastor accountable.
    3. Helping the team of elders to shepherd the church as a team and make decisions as a team according to the constitution and by-laws.
  5. Expectations of time
    1. 3 evenings of ministry and not more.
    2. 40 hours a week.
