Call To Worship

Zechariah 2:10-11

10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the Lord. 11 And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.

Revelation 21:1-4

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Worship Through the Reading of God’s Word:

Matthew 12:46-50

Jesus’ Mother and Brothers

46 While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. 48 But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Worship Through Prayer:

Pray this with us (from Psalm 23)

1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Triune God, our Great Shepherd: we praise you for your gracious watch over us, your sheep. You provide every good thing a child needs from their Father, and in you our every desire is satisfied. Thank you for mercifully leading us to that which is good for us: you bring us to restful pastures and waters, just as you led your people through the wilderness to the Promised Land, and just as you will one day lead us to your New Heavens and New Earth, where you will dwell with us. In your Son Jesus and by the power of your Holy Spirit, our souls find rest, for they are restless until they rest in you. For the fame of your name, you take us by the hand to walk down paths that lead to righteousness and life in you.

Lord, we know that in this life, we will encounter sin, death, and destruction, as a result of our fall from grace. Thank you for giving us great courage in face of such darkness, for we know that the light of the world is with us, and because of this, we fear no evil. You are the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1) even as we journey through such dangerous valleys.

Our cups overflow with gratitude because in your goodness you are “God with us.” In the elements of bread and juice, you remind us of your grace given in Christ, and of our future feast with you in heaven, when the great Enemy has been cast away for good. We say loudly with David, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever!” Thank you for this promise, oh Lord!

Though we are prone to wander, you are quick to seek us; draw near to us and bind our wandering hearts to you.

In Christ’s name we pray these things. Amen and amen.

-From Pastor Aaron

Song Lyrics for Drive-in Communion Service

I Stand Amazed; #4674207

I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene.
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.

How marvelous, How wonderful
And my song will ever be
How marvelous, How wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me.

He took my sins and my sorrows
He made them his very own
He bore the burden to Calvary
He suffered and bled for me.

How marvelous, How wonderful
And my song will ever be
How marvelous, How wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me.

When with ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see
Twill be joy through the ages
To sing of His love of me.

How marvelous, How wonderful
And my song will ever be
How marvelous, How wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me.

How Great is Our God; #4348399

The splendor of a King
Clothed in majesty
Let all the Earth rejoice
All the Earth rejoice

He wraps himself in light
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
